Changes at MM & Summer Groups!
Summer is in full swing and we are so excited with everything that has been happening at our clinic! From new therapists who have joined us, to exciting workshops, to an expansion of adult services.

We are excited to welcome Jayne Gracey, PT, who is offering services for both children and adults. Most recently, we have begun accepting clients through ICBC (and WorksafeBC very soon!) for related injuries. Jayne comes to us with a wealth of experience working with both young and not-so-youg clients from Canada and as far away as the UK and Ireland! Read more about Jayne here!

Also on board with us now is Kaylene French, our newest SLP. Kaylene comes to us from Alberta, but has spent the last decade travelling all over Canada and abroad. She brings experience from a variety of settings and loves working with children of all ages. Read more about Kaylene here!

Last but not least, we have Kaitlyn Hartmann, our newest OT. Kaitlyn joins us from Northern BC, and has experience working in rural areas with people of all ages with an array of conditions requiring Occupational Therapy. Read more about Kaitlyn here!
Adults Services
While we absolutely love seeing kiddos come in for various sessions, we also want to give adults the attention they need, too! We are now accepting adult clients for both PT and OT, and are registered for ICBC (and WorkSafeBC is coming soon!) for our clients with related injuries. In your initial assessment, we will work with you to build a treatment plan that fits your needs so that together, we can help you reach your goals. You can find more information on our adult services by clicking here.
Summer Workshops
This summer we have had a few different workshops for kids:
- A social group for ages 8-10 for 4 sessions throughout July to encourage social, reciprocal, and communicative skills
- A teen/tween social group for 2 sessions in July to learn how to interact in public environments, build new friendships, etc.
- A Collaborating with Confidence 2-day workshop for younger teens to use math and science to make predictions and conclusions – Bungee Jumping Barbie!
Bungee Jumping Barbie!
Do you have an idea for a workshop or group that you’d like to see and participate in with us? Let us know! Leave a comment or send an email with your ideas!
We hope you are enjoying your summer as much as we are enjoying ours!

New Therapists Have Arrived!
We are so excited to have two new therapists who have joined our team this spring, and one more coming on board this summer!
Jayne Gracey is our new Physiotherapist. She will be working on Mondays and Wednesdays during after-school areas and will be focused mainly on our younger clients. She comes to us all the way from Ireland and has been practicing physiotherapy for a number of years in both hospital and private clinic settings.
Marie Bullock is our newest Occupational Therapist, and she will also be focusing on our younger clients. She will be here Wednesdays and Thursdays in both the mornings and afternoons. Marie has come back to the West Kootenays where she was born and raised, after leaving for a time to complete two Masters Degrees.
Kaylene French is our newest Speech Language Therapist, and she will begin working with us in July. Keep a look out for her bio in the next month or two!

New MM Therapy Centre Opens September 10
Dear MM Clients,
We hope you have had a wonderful summer. We have been busy getting ready to move our MM services and team into our new space!
I am sending out this notice to all of our MM clients, friends and family that the new MM Therapy Centre will open on Monday, September 10th at 1159 Pine Avenue in downtown Trail. We will be located above Elevate Health & Wellness and our entrance is on the side of the building on Pine Avenue. Please park at the back of the building and leave strollers, bikes and other items as needed at the bottom of the stairs.
All our therapies will be running for September prior to and after the move. You can call or book online at anytime over the next 2 weeks and we are happy to assist you with your fall scheduling.
A few questions have been sent our way over the last month so we will take this opportunity to answer them:
Will there be a chairlift or elevator?
– Our chairlift for the building will be delayed but we plan on having this installed in the New Year. We are currently working with the landlord to have this put in place. Should clients need to access treatments on the main floor, we will have rooms to use in Elevate.
Will MM become part of Elevate?
– No. MM Therapy Centre is not joining with Elevate though we will be sharing the space with them and we will utilize their downstairs treatment rooms.
Will there be parking?
– Yes. Parking is free and in the back of the building on Farwell Street. There are also several free parking spots if you cross Pine Avenue and go up Farwell Street.
Will MM clients be able to use the gym in Elevate?
– Yes. MM clients can purchase a pass to use the gym facilities and we will also have access to treatment rooms in the main floor. Our MM team may also use the gym for sessions.
Please do not hesitate to call or email us if you have any other questions or concerns. We are thrilled to expand our services and space this fall and to share this special new MM home with all of you!
Sincerely,
Tamsin and the MM Team

We are Movin’ this fall! New MM location in Trail
Starting in September, 2018 MM Therapy Centre will be operating above the Elevate, Sport and Health building at 801, Farwell Street in Trail across from Ferraro’s Foods. There will be significant renovations taking place over the summer to ready the space – including a wheel chair lift, additional gym rooms and private treatment rooms for adult and kid clients. We have also made provisions for parking for our clients to allow for ease of access. Our plans to increase the number of treatment rooms means we will offer more flexibility in booking times and increase staff to meet growing demand for booking dates and times. We are also thrilled to develop our PT programs as we will have access to the gym space in Elevate and to downtown locations for OT and SLP life-skills programming.
MM will continue to operate out of our current location over the summer so that we do not have to disrupt your services. We will communicate regularly with you as we go through this process and once we confirm our grand opening date at 801, Farwell Street we hope to have you all there to check it out. We will ensure that you have details on how to access the new location regardless and make sure our clients who need supports during transitions have the time to do so at their first appointments.
Your care is always at the forefront of our planning with any new program or project. If you have questions please do not hesitate to contact us: [email protected], 778-456-0020
