My name is Amanda and I love how joining the Movin’ Mountains team has increased my ability to work in Paedatric therapies. I was drawn to MM because of my passion to work with children who require support with sensory processing disorders, autism and executive function. This has been an exciting field of work as every child is unique which makes each day interesting and exciting with a new challenges and rewards. It is so much fun to help a child realize his or her potential.

I graduated from the University of Alberta with a Bacholor of Science in Occupational Therapy in 2004. My previous work has included supporting adults with neurological conditions such as strokes, TBI, Spinal cord injuries, Parkinson’s disease and MS. I have also had the pleasure of working to rehabilitate women and men following procedures for Breast Cancer treatments.  I have a keen interest in manual therapy techniques and therapeutic exercise.

A bit about me: I was raised on my family’s farm in Saskatchewan where I learned a strong work ethic and the value of family. After university, I moved to Oregon where I developed a love of backcountry skiing, mountain biking and rock climbing with my husband, Adam and our dog, Avery.  I have a personal passion for baking and studied baking and pastry arts at a culinary school. My favourites are puff pastry, croissants and cakes!

What does my quote mean? My grandma has been saying this my sister, female cousins and I for years, since we were little girls. I think it is about empowering us be strong, independent women.
