April is Autism Awareness and Acceptance Month

Back To Blog

Our Movin’ Mountains staff was proudly wearing blue this World Autism Day, on Tuesday, April 2nd. We also thought about positive words that describe what we see when we see kids and adults with autism.

World Autism Day began on April 2nd, 2008 and has since connected so many people around the globe to help share awareness of autism and to extend a better understanding for those on the spectrum.

Autism diagnoses are made 1 in 66 children in Canada alone, and touches over 70 million kids worldwide. We all know that knowledge and awareness can create a better understanding and acceptance for all, and we proudly support this initiative. We see some wonderful clients here who are on the spectrum and we can’t imagine the world without them!

Some of the words that cross our minds when we see clients with autism are joy, excitement, happiness, intelligence, and creativity. What are some words you can think of to describe what you see when you see someone on the spectrum?
