*Marie-Elise is currently away on maternity leave, enjoying her new little bundle of joy!*
My name is Marie-Elise and the experience of working to provide speech language therapy at MM has exceeded my expectations. What I love best about working here is the opportunities to collaborate with all of the therapists and having access to the therapy gym. I love watching the kids and their family members interact with each other during therapy sessions. I am inspired by the innovative and creative energy everyone brings to their work at MM.
Prior to joining the team at Movin’ Mountains I worked in both rural and urban settings. I have provided early intervention (birth – 5 years) services in the East Kootenays and specialized in early intervention for children who are Deaf or Hard-of-Hearing in the lower mainland. My work is based on family centered care. I believe that family members play a critical role in their child’s growth and development. I intention is to coach, collaborate, educate, and support caregivers on your journey with your child.
A bit about me: I grew up in a French community in the Prairies but after moving to Vancouver to continue my studies, I fell in love with beautiful British-Columbia. The forests and mountains are the places I call home. I spend much of my spare time adventuring in them. If I’m not out in the mountains then I am usually cooking in the kitchen.
What does my quote mean? Every day at Movin’ Mountains I have the privilege to see families and children learn and grow. I am reminded daily of how unique and amazing they are and in turn I am learning and growing too. We aren’t perfect, but we sure are all amazing.
