My name is Kaitlyn and I am thrilled to be an Occupational Therapist in part of the energetic and creative team at Movin’ Mountains. I consider each interaction with my clients and their loved ones a privilege, and I am looking forward to helping them achieve their goals.
I graduated with my Bachelor of Human Kinetics at UBC Okanagan in 2015 and went on to complete my Masters of Science in Occupational Therapy at the University of Alberta in 2017. My OT career thus far has been working rurally with individuals of all ages (from 0-100!) with an array of conditions including those with strokes, cognitive impairment, mental health challenges, cerebral palsy, orthopedic conditions and developmental disabilities. I am delighted to continue working with pediatric clients in my work at Movin’ Mountains.
I was born and raised in Kitimat, a small rural town in Northern BC that is very similar to Trail! I moved to the Kootenays in 2017 and immediately fell in love with all of the natural beauty and outdoor activities this mountain town has to offer. When I’m not happily working with clients, you can find me baking/cooking up a storm in the kitchen, tinkering with some sort of craft, working on my goal to become a sub-par skier, relaxing at the lake, or spending time with my fiancé and energetic yellow lab, Benji.
“From little things, big things grow”-Paul Kelly & Kev Carmody
What does my quote mean? I believe that all of our actions and thoughts, no matter how small, add up to have a very big influence on our goals. As an OT, I focus on the little things in daily life to help my clients form habits and routines that ultimately assist with living life to the fullest! At Movin’ Mountains, I hope to enable the little things that ultimately make the big things happen.
